Equal Housing Opportunity

NextHome Shore Success is pledged to the letter and spirit of United States policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.

Federal law

The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of housing, and in other housing-related transactions, based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), familial status and disability.

New Jersey law

The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination provides broader protection, prohibiting discrimination in housing on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, nationality, age, marital status, civil union status, domestic partnership status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, disability, liability for military service, source of lawful income used for rental or mortgage payments, and other protected characteristics.

What this means in how we work

• We do not steer buyers toward or away from neighborhoods based on any protected characteristic, and we will decline to answer questions that ask us to.
• Our community guides describe geography, housing stock, infrastructure and market considerations — not the characteristics of the people who live somewhere.
• We do not comment on the 'safety' or 'type' of a neighborhood, or use schools as a proxy for anything. We will point you to official data sources so you can evaluate for yourself.
• Our advertising is designed to be inclusive and free of discriminatory preference, limitation or language.
• Our agents receive fair housing training and are expected to comply fully.
