Ocean County
Brick Township
Barnegat Bay frontage, established inland neighborhoods and one of the largest housing inventories in Ocean County.
Ocean County, New Jersey
A large western Ocean County township with newer construction, wooded lots and quick access to Route 195 and the Turnpike.
Jackson Township is one of the largest municipalities in Ocean County by land area, sitting at the county's northwestern corner. It borders Howell and Millstone to the north, Lakewood to the east, and Manchester and Plumsted to the south and west. Interstate 195 crosses the northern part of the township.
Jackson has seen substantial residential development over the past several decades, and its inventory skews newer than much of Ocean County. Typical stock includes late-20th-century and 21st-century single-family subdivisions on wooded lots, larger custom homes, townhome communities, and several age-restricted developments. Lot sizes are generally generous, and tree cover is a defining feature of the township's residential character.
Portions of Jackson fall within the Pinelands Area, which carries additional land use and development regulation beyond ordinary municipal zoning. If a property has undeveloped acreage or you have any plans involving construction, clearing or septic, confirm Pinelands status early — it materially affects what is permitted. Well and septic service is common in the less densely developed sections.
Interstate 195 provides the fastest connection west to the New Jersey Turnpike (exit 7A) and east toward the Belmar area. County Route 526, Route 528 and Route 571 handle local traffic, and Route 9 in neighboring Lakewood is the nearest major commercial corridor.
Six Flags Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor are located in Jackson and are the township's best-known destinations. Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area offers substantial open space, and the township maintains a large recreation complex and athletic fields. Note that the amusement park generates seasonal traffic on the Route 537 and I-195 corridors.

Fair housing
These guides describe geography, housing stock, infrastructure and general market considerations only. We do not describe or rank communities by the characteristics of the people who live in them, and we do not comment on safety, schools as a proxy for anything, or who would or would not 'fit' somewhere. All information is believed accurate but is not guaranteed. Buyers should independently verify anything material to their decision — including taxes, flood zones, utilities, association rules, zoning, school assignment and municipal requirements — with the municipality and their own professionals.
